The highly anticipated sequel of "Fifty Shades Of Grey" will face another roadblock ahead of filming which is set to begin early next year.

Budget concerns over pay for the leading stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have come into focus as the celebrities look to take home a larger slice of the earnings from the franchise.

According to Inquisitr, the "Flying Home" star Dornan and "Black Mass" actress Johnson had been paid only $250,000 for their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively.

The film having garnered more than $500 million in sales worldwide has prompted the leading duo to negotiate for a much larger pay out in keeping with the profit projections of the upcoming movies.

According to the entertainment website the stars had each requested for a seven-figure deal, which producers are said to be having a difficult time agreeing to. While the sequel is expected to gross much more than the first movie, producer Dana Brunetti is reported to be struggling with the expected increase in payouts.

Meanwhile, Dornan recently squashed rumors that his wife hated him playing the role of Christian Grey, according to the Mirror.

"The Fall" actor who is a father of one has already been locked into a contract for the next two movies which are based on the bestselling books by E.L. James. The sequel is set to include a number of new characters who are yet to be cast and of them two roles that will likely play a big part in the overall plot line.

While uncertainty looms over a date to begin filming "Fifty Shades Darker" is set to premier in theaters in Feb 2017.
