Loki can be viewed as the sturdiest antagonist in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

According to Cinema Blend, Loki is an exception to Marvel's villains, who are described as one-"dimensional, underwhelming, and forgettable." While some of the baddies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe only lasted for a single film, the god of mischief remains alive since he appeared in Kenneth Branagh's "Thor."

With his abilities as a god, such as the power to copy someone else, Loki is one of the characters with an evident progress and success. The character managed to give Earth's Mightiest Superheroes a challenge in Joss Whedon's "The Avengers" and fool his brother Thor in Alan Taylor's "Thor: The Dark World."

Since Marvel Studios is entering its Phase Three, the villains in its cinematic universe could be treated like Loki. This entails that they will be set to endure a film or two, in contrary to most villains in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

Tom Hiddleston played Loki in Branagh's "Thor" and Taylor's "Thor: The Dark World." In his recent interview with Collider, Hiddleston revealed that he had no idea on what his character's future will be in Marvel's Cinematic Universe. He added that it was uncertain on how Loki would fit in the cinematic universe, not to mention that it is expanding.

Since Loki and Thor are not reported to appear Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War," both characters are set to return to the big screen in Jack Kirby and Craig Kyle's "Thor: Ragnarok." The film is in its early phase of development and exact details on the plot, cast, and characters are yet to be revealed.

Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Nov. 3, 2017.
