Manchester City started the new Premier League season hot with five consecutive victories to date, which proved that Manuel Pellegrini's £136 million summer investment of Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Otamendi, and Kevin De Bruyne are paying dividends.

Furthermore, no team was able to put a goal against City in the English league so far, which means Pellegrini is also doing a great job on the defensive end with Joe Hart as the main goal tender.

However, the Citizens recent 1-2 loss to Italian champions Juventus in a recent UEFA Champions League match showed everyone that there is still much to improve about the current EPL leaders.

Pellegrini to rival Jose Mourinho for Valencia's Jose Gaya in January: Rumors were out that Manchester City is set to challenge Chelsea for the services of the 20-year-old left back from Pedreguer, Spain when the transfer window re-opens next year.

The up-and-coming defender has already had 36 caps with Els Taronges' first team, 35 of which in the 2014-2015 season, which gave him enough experience to be an asset on any backfield.

Real Madrid is also reportedly interested on the boy but expect Pellegrini to make a huge offer come January to further boost the Sky Blues' defense. Verdict: Fact.

City captain Vincent Kompany injures calf, out for the season: One of the costs of City's loss against Juve is the calf injury the 29-year-old center back suffered at the 75th-minute of the game.

Pellegrini admitted that they don't know the severity of the muscle injury yet, but he does not know whether the Belgium international "will be fit from now until the end of the season."

However, Kompany himself downplayed his injury, saying that he is confident that he will be available for their match against West Ham this Saturday. Verdict: Fiction.
