One of the reasons Android fans love the Nexus flagship phone is it's always the first to show off freshly cooked features of the Google mobile operating system. This definitely is the case with the Nexus 5 2015, which on release date will initially monopolize what Android 6.0 Marshmallow has to offer.

Rumors say that it will be a two-in-one rollout of the Nexus 2015 and Marshmallow and the big event will happen in the next few days. Ahead of that, snippets of the next Android features have been leaking out, essentially providing snapshots of the software's cool functionalities. At the same time, what Marshmallow has revealed so far also hinted of the killer features that will come stuffed with the LG Nexus 5 2015.

Four of them are listed below:

Android Pay and fingerprint reader

During Google's annual I/O Developers Conference, it was revealed that biometrics will be natively supported by Android 6.0, erstwhile labelled as Android M. Confirmed as the first biometric feature of the new mobile OS is a fingerprint scanner, which like its counterpart in the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy flagships is chiefly designed to robustly secure an Android device while making it easy for users to unlock the same.

With fingerprint sensor part of the next Nexus unboxing, Google is also taking advantage of the feature to introduce Android Pay. The wireless and online payment facility will be secured by rear-located fingerprint reader of the second LG Nexus 5.

Wire-free backup and restore via Google Drive

Like the iPhone 6S, the Nexus 5 2015 can be backed up using the cloud or specifically Google Drive. The data stored can be then used when a restore is warranted, ensuring that the handset will be easily reverted to its former and preferred state anytime. This is especially when unexpected device issues emerged and the solution is only a few taps away.

Doze power management tool

Google dreamt of seeing all Android devices to operate longer than their advertised battery capacity and Doze is the answer to the problem, according to the tech giant. The tool will forced into sleep idle apps to save battery juice and has a learning mode feature that will pinpoint power-hogging applications. Users can then opt to rid their devices of the battery-hungry apps.

The main design of Doze is to keep the energy flowing as long as possible and Nexus 5 2015 users will be the first to benefit from this powerful app.

Now on Tap

Now on Tap is Google Now supercharged, according to Android Authority. This Siri rival is engineered to predict the need of the hour and offer information or assistance to an Android device user.

To illustrate for instance, Android Authority said that a user who just received a movie invite via email can just press-hold the home key of a phone and Now on Tap will pull up the latest details on a particular film title - reviews, trailer clips and the nearest theaters where the movie is being screened.

September 29 is marked as the reported Google Nexus 5 2015 unveiling, which likely will also intro the bigger Huawei Nexus 6 2015. But the actual release date is not expected until after the rumored pre-ordering of both devices that starts October 13.
