Well-known comedienne Amy Schumer scored an Emmy award for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series for her work in the comedy show "Inside Amy Schumer", which also earned her the label as Hollywood's newest IT girl for this year.
Looking back, the "Trainwreck" actress had a long journey before she was noticed by the famous awarding ceremony's critics. In 2007, she was first seen on NBC's "Last Comic Standing" Season where she placed fourth. She landed roles on Comedy Central's "30 Rock" series and Adult Swim mockumentary series "Delocated" among many other stints.
In 2013, the comedienne finally materialized her dream with her own comedy series "Inside Amy Schumer". During production, the star mentioned that the show almost did not happen. According to ABC News, the stand-up comedian revealed that she almost ended up with "a stupid sex talk show" that nobody would want to watch.
Aside from the sketch series, she also earned the label as Hollywood's IT girl for her continuous success this year. Her "Trainwreck" movie received an 85 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and she became close friends with "The Hunger Games" film series actress Jennifer Lawrence to whom she spent fun vacation getaways with.
In addition, she also won a Peabody Award and a Critics' Choice Award before her victory at the Emmy Awards. The famous comedienne also did opening segments for famous singer Madonna's "Rebel Heart" tour in New York City.
When asked about what she felt after her Emmy win, the comedic director could hardly contain her excitement. In an exclusive backstage Entertainment Weekly interview, the actress revealed that she was excited to hug her sister and felt that she was going to black out from all the commotion during the show.
"Inside Amy Schumer" is currently under production and there are no official statements on the show's airing date yet.
