If the Galaxy Note 5 is presently the greatest flagship from Samsung, that will change with the approaching Galaxy S7 release date. The handset, a new report said, is shaping up as a beastly monster Android with Snapdragon 820 as the main engine.

A new AnTuTu benchmark test result obtained by G4Games appears to indicate that Samsung is working closely with Qualcomm for the SD 820 to attain optimal level in time for the Galaxy S7 unpacking in the early months of 2016. The scores registered so far is showing that the upcoming processor is making a beast out of the S7.

"The latest Galaxy S7 Snapdragon 820 benchmark shows improvements across the board," the report said. It is understood that the SD 820 was tested on two working prototypes of the S7.

The AnTuTu testing showed the pitting of three Qualcomm chips - presumably the SD 810, an earlier version of the SD 820 and its latest enhanced build. As expected the SD 820 outpaced its two older siblings both in power and speed.

"The SD 820-B (the latest build) shows 1.38x and 1.77x performance improvements in single threaded integer and single threaded floating point tests," the report said.

At its current state, the SD 820 is said to score more than 75,000 points on AnTuTu benchmark but Samsung and Qualcomm are said to continue on their collaboration to further increase the power and capabilities that will be packed with the chip.

"Qualcomm's upcoming high-end SoC will continue to improve over the next few weeks or months until it will be ready for mass production," G4Games said on its report. And the large-scale manufacturing of the chip and the S7 could start in the last quarter of 2015.

Samsung is believed to be beefing up the Galaxy S7 and make it as the iPhone 6S killer with superior specifications starting off with the use of SD 820 that likely will be paired with up to 6GB of RAM. The device is also rumored to be wrapped in magnesium alloy for its casing while the glass cover is an in-house protective coating that will replace the mainstay Corning Gorilla Glass.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 2016 release date is predicted to happen earlier than its predecessor with the unpacking likely to coincide with the Las Vegas CES in late January.
