"New Girl" season 5 will introduce Megan Fox as lead star Zooey Deschanel's replacement while she is still on maternity leave.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Fox has been tapped in a multi-episode arc for "New Girl" season 5.
As of late, it still unclear which role specifically Fox will play on the FOX series. What is only known is that she will be closely interacting with Nick, Schmidt, Cece and Winston.
According to Slash Film, Fox will play the role of Raegan, and she will be renting out Jess' apartment while she is away.
Raegan is described as a gorgeous pharmaceutical sales rep who comes to town for business, and who will shake things up a bit while she's staying at the loft.
Executive producer Liz Meriweather weighed in on Fox's appearance and said that she's excited to see her on "New Girl."
"It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we all have to accept it. I've been a fan of her comedic skills since 'This is 40,' and I'm so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part - she's the perfect person to come in and shake things up with the guys," she said.
In other news, "New Girl" season 5 will also focus on Schmidt and Cece's wedding preparations, and ultimately their actual wedding ceremony. Before they reach that day, the couple will have to convince Cece's mom that they are right for each other.
"New Girl" season 5 will premiere on FOX sometime next year.
