Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus received praises for including significant improvements for the camera and the inclusion of 3D Touch. However, despite these interesting upgrades, the devices are still bugged by limited battery life and storage space.

Apart from improvements under the hood, critics pointed that the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus still look and feel the same to its predecessor which was released in 2014. According to the Wall Street Journal, the iPhones addressed the lack of powerful hardware which was one of the major complaints by many users. With the in mind, the new iteration of the iPhone 6 will cover remaining problems such as software issues.

The new iPhone model gets an upgraded camera. The device now sports a 12-megapixel shooter with a massive 4608 x 2592 resolution. It has phase detection autofocus and a dual-LED flash. It can capture 4K videos at 30 frames per second and 1080p videos at 60 frames per second.

So far, the feature that received the biggest praise is the 3D Touch. This is Apple's newest pressure sensitive technology. This piece of technology was only confined to drawing apps in the past. However, Apple was able to rebuild the software for it to be used directly in the new iPhone's user interface. The technology is similar to Force Touch which is integrated into the Apple Watch and newer models of MacBooks.

While the new iPhone has its fair share of innovation, it also has a handful of unresolved issue. First is the device's battery life which can hardly last for a full day on moderate to heavy use. Some features like the Live Photos demands so much processing power causing the device to drain its battery faster. Benchmark tests show that there is no significant improvement on the new iPhone's battery life.

The iPhone 6S base model has 16GB of storage. A significant portion of that goes to the phone's OS leaving users a limited storage space. The Live Photos feature also snaps a photo that takes roughly twice the storage space needed for a standard 12-megapixel photo, according to PC Advisor.

The Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are expected to hit stores on Sept. 25.
