Video game developer Mane6 is planning to release a fighting game titled "Them's Fightin' Herds." The game is based on the widely popular cartoon show "My Little Pony."

The game was originally planned as "My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic." The game was created by fans of the "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic." However, the project was terminated after Hasbro issue a cease-and-desist order against Mane6 in February 2013. The project was reborn after "Friendship is Magic" producer Lauren Faust along with Lab Zero Games studio joined the fray.

"Them's Fighthin' Herds" is a fighting game featuring the game's original cast of characters designed by Faust. The game is also using the game engine developed by Lab Zero Games used in the "Skullgirls" video game.

According to Engadget, Mane6 launched an Indeogogo funding campaign with aim of putting together $436,000 to fund the development of the game. Lab Zero Games launched the campaign in order to fund the planned 18-month full-time development of the game.

The funding campaign was launched on Sept. 21. After three days since its launch, the campaign was able to amass $147,000 from 2,605 backers. The campaign still has 28 days left.

Based on initial news from Mane6, the game with be a 2D fighting game. It is aimed to be released on the Windows PC platform. It supports single and multiplayer mode. The game uses the Fighter Maker 2D game engine, according to Kotaku.

If the campaign reaches its funding goal, the game is estimated to be released early in 2017.
