"Person of Interest" is reportedly going to be cancelled after season 5. CBS may have renewed the show for a fifth season but fans have started wondering if this will be the last, given that they only ordered 13 episodes instead of the usual 22-23.
Speaking to Indiewire, Michael Emerson (Harold Finch) admitted that it was a "stressful" time waiting for the renewal to be confirmed. Season 4 may have not pulled as much viewers as they hoped but with its streaming on Neflix and WGN, it was said that the cast members are still holding out hope that there will be a season 6.
When asked to describe "Person of Interest" to those who have never seen the show, Emerson said that the series was mostly about "interesting vigilantes, who join forces with an artificial intelligence to prevent crime."
Meanwhile, speaking to IGN, executive producer Greg Plageman revealed that they were all surprised when the show was only green lighted for 13 episodes. He, however, said that there were some upsides to a shorter season.
Executive producer Jonathan Nolan shared that one of his favorite episodes in the entire show was on season 5.
"It's a doozy. It's going to blow everyone away. And it's just filled with f**king mayhem," Nolan said.
Although Plageman admitted that this may be the last season for "POI," the showrunner promised that the final three episodes will be "amazing" for the fans. He said that they are just going to build the tension throughout the entire 13 episodes.
