Google finally outed the Nexus 5X and for the most part the rumors were confirmed. It is a 5.2-inch phone that is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow and under the hood, the power source is the combo of Snapdragon 808 chip and 2GB of RAM.
Is it a compelling buy? Per BGR, the reaction from the Android crowd is far away from that concept. It appears that many Nexus fans will skip the device this 2015 for a host of reasons. And four of them are listed below:
The camera underwhelms
The Nexus 5X is equipped with seemingly impressive and high-end camera specs 12.3-megapixel on rear with an f/2.0 aperture and laser-assisted focus and 5-megapixel on front. But this early, fans are voicing out complaints on the glaring skips by Google.
Optical image stabilization is nowhere to be found, which is a strange move on Google's part considering that OIS has become a flagship camera phone standard with the likes of Apple iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S6 rocking the feature.
And the rear camera bump is a huge turn off that only prods would-be buyers to turn the other way.
Only 2GB of RAM
The rumors only proved as rumors as the Nexus 5X unpacks with only 2GB of RAM provision contrary to the expectation that Google would be generous enough to provide 3GB of random access memory. Good thing that the phone stands on vanilla Android, which means the absence of RAM-hungry bloat wares.
Again, no microSD slot
The Nexus 5X lacking a microSD slot for users to expand the device's memory capacity came as no surprise at all as the previous models were designed and built the same way. This is the classic case of Google sticking to its solid Nexus template but for fans the likely reaction is to look beyond the 2015 edition.
Wireless charging not supported
This convenient feature is becoming a flagship standard thanks to Samsung Galaxy S6 but Google thought best to skip it for the Nexus 5X as well as for the Nexus 6P.
So while the Nexus 2015 release date designed by Google produced a Nexus 5X that runs on pure Android Marshmallow and sell for only $380 for the 16GB model, buyers seem to have too many reasons to look elsewhere.
