Director George Miller has confirmed that he was not going to direct "Man of Steel 2."

In his interview with Digital Spy, Miller said that there had been some rumors about him directing the "Man of Steel" sequel; however, he said that those were probably not true. The director also hoped that the next film would be a "very small" film with no special effects and few stunts. Following his directorship over "Mad Max: Fury Road" for almost two years, his desire for a smaller film is understandable.

Miller also told Digital Spy his plans on a "Justice League" film, which did not materialize. While the director did not blame the people at Warne Bros., he just said that the Australian government had not been able to give rebates for the film and the writer strikes led to confusion. The director also said that he had been interested in the superhero genre, as its nature is similar to those of the Greco-Roman type.

With regard to DC's Cinematic Universe, Miller recognized Zack Snyder's work, which is in contrary to the public's opinion, as per Cinema Blend. According to the publication, Snyder had attested to be a contentious icon as a director.

Meanwhile, Henry Cavill will reprise his role as the Man of Steel in Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which sets the path to the rise of the superhero team Justice League. The film stars Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, and Amy Adams, among others.

Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to be aired in two separate teasers on Oct. 26 while the film is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 25, 2016.
