Fine-Tuned App Permissions
The new app Permissions allows users to select exactly how much access how want to grant specific apps, instead of accepting them in group. The apps that have been designed for the update only ask for permission on an as-needed basis. If the user wants to permit the app again, they can tap and a swipe away from reinstatement.

Web experience
Google created Chrome Custom Tabs to provide a better user experience when interacting with websites and apps. It enables the apps to open a customized Chrome window on top of the active app, instead of launching the Chrome app separately. It offers faster and more intuitive user-experience when navigating between apps and the web.

The new mobile web feature supports automatic sign-in, saved passwords, autofill, and multi-process security to help in integrating the app and and web experience.

Google Now on Tap
Now on Tap recognizes that apps themselves are not nearly as important as the information contained within them, Wired reported. It gives the users more information and take action from directly within an application. Users will no longer have to leave one app to run a search in another, or to use a mobile web browser. Now on Tap will provide users a way to avoid organic search because the options are already presented to them.

Fingerprint support
With Android 6.0 Marshmallow, there will be a standardized support for fingerprint scanners on phones. Users can now use fingerprint scanners to unlock phones, make purchase at the mall or Play Store apps.

Mobile payments
The latest mobile payment system is the Android Pay, which is designed to make checkout process easier and faster. Android Pay offers simplicity, security, and choice, with the option of using existing credit cards to pay for products in more than 700,000 stores in the United States.

Android Pay works well with any device featuring NFC capabilities (running 4.4 KitKat or above). American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover supports Android Pay. U.S. mobile carriers like AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile have expressed their support to the latest Android mobile payment.

Improved battery life
It features Doze, which uses the phone’s accelerometer to identify when the phone is at rest. After a long enough sleep, it will shut down the background syncing activity until the users tap it back again. App Standby is another feature that disables apps that have been followed for a while.

App links
Opening a link is now easier without asking users every time with the dialog box. It will open automatically without any dialog box that users need to tap.

App Drawer
This contains all the apps that users do not want to see on their homescreen. Android 6.0 Marshmallow has realigned the App Drawer into one long cascade, much easier on the eyes and thumbs. Now, it provides a search bar for easier search of apps.

Android Marshmallow RAM manager
The new RAM manager aims to provide users with more accurate and comprehensible information regarding the maximum and average RAM usage of apps, according to AndroidPIT.

The menu can be found in Settings > Apps > Options (three dots button) > Advanced > Memory. It offers a far clearer insight into app demands, and the overall effect they will have on the phone. It also includes a simple bar at the top of the page displaying the current performance status of the device.
