The titular villain Apocalypse is said to change forms in Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse."

A new image of the supervillain has surfaced online, which can be seen in Movie Pilot. According to the publication, the villain might be transforming into the classic Apocalypse people used to know. Apocalypse has no lens and pupils in the leaked image, which opposes the supervillain's look in the first leaked images.

Marvel and director Bryan Singer have not revealed the exact reason behind Apocalypse's alternative form. However, it is assumed that Marvel opted to change the supervillain's look because of people's criticisms saying that Apocalypse in Singer's film has some resemblance with the "Power Rangers" villain Ivan Ooze.

Apocalypse has a multifaceted mythology, as per Den of Geek. The publication mentioned that Apocalypse had the ability to change his own molecular structure, along with his telekinetic powers. As a result, Apocalypse is viewed as potentially the greatest threat to the X-Men that the members of the titular team may need to unite in order to take him down.

The storyline of Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is based on Terry Kavanagh and Adam Pollina's 1996 miniseries "Rise of Apocalypse." It followed En Sabah Nur as an ancient Egyptian who was left out in the middle of the desert to die when he began showing odd mutations like the graying of his skin. Then, a Nomad tribe rescued him and taught him the concept of survival of the fittest.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" stars Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Olivia Munn, Lana Condor, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tye Sheridan, Ben Hardy, Rose Byrne, Josh Helman, and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, among others.

Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27, 2016.
