FIFA world no. 58 team Australia (3-0-0, 9 points) is set to face Group B's second-running team Jordan (2-0-1, 7 points) on October 8, Thursday for an AFC 2018 World Cup qualifying game at the Amman International Stadium in Amman, Jordan.

Jordan blanked winless Bangladesh, 4-0, in their match last September 8 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka as winger Abdallah Deeb scored a double for Paul Put's side at the 13th and 56th-minute marks, as reported by the FIFA official website.

Midfielders Munther Abu Amarah and Yaseen Al-Bakhit also contributed one apiece, at the 33rd and 58th, to complete the rout of the Bengal Tigers.

Australia is coming off a 3-0 romp of Tajikistan at the Pamir Stadium in Dushanbe also on September 8.

Team captain Tim Cahill led Socceroos with a brace at the 73rd and 91st minutes to turn back the Persian Lions and seal the victory for Ange Postecoglou's squad.

Center back Mark Milligan opened the scoring for the Australians three minutes before the hour mark in the second half before Cahill's late two-goal output, as per Soccerway.

Al-Nashāmā is Australia's top rival for the number one spot in Group B and would be their toughest challenge so far. A loss in this game would relegate them to the second position so the Socceroos cannot afford to be complacent on this one.

The prediction is a tough 2-1 victory for Australia.
