1. A new threat and struggle: Synopsis for "The Walking Dead" Season 6 Episode 1 (via Spoiler TV) suggests that Rick and other group members struggle to adapt to the new place. Meanwhile, a new threat surfaces for the group to deal with.

2. New Characters: "The Walking Dead" Season 6 will not only see the return of beloved characters but will also introduce some new faces. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Scott Gimple teased that fans will meet "other people" from comics and they will be featured throughout the season.

While details of the new characters remain a mystery, reports revealed that "Salem's" Xander Berkeley has joined the cast. Entertainment publication Cinema Blend speculates Berkeley will be playing the role of Gregory, the head of the Hilltop Colony. Some other characters to watch out for are Dr. Denise Cloyd (Merritt Wever), Carter (Ethan Embry) and Heath (Corey Hawkins).

3. Flashback Stories: The showmaker also teased lots of flashbacks in the first half of "The Walking Dead" Season 6.

"There will actually be a whole lot of flashbacks in the first half of the season. And in fact, I'm working on an episode right now that's entirely a flashback, but I just forget things in front of 7,000 people," Gimple said at the Comic Con panel (via Cinema Blend).

4. Morgan's backstory: Fans must watch out for the big Morgan Jones (Leannie James) flashback episode. In a recent interview with TV Line, Gimple said one of the "The Walking Dead" Season 6 episodes will focus on Morgan's transformation featuring flashbacks.

Fans must have noticed a massive shift in Morgan's attitude in Season 5 finale. The show creator reveals that "something happened in the middle of all of that," that must be showed.

5. High intensity premiere: According to Gimple, Season 6 premiere has all the essential elements. It reportedly "gives 'Walking Dead' fans everything." Fans can expect to see a "high intensity" and "contemplative" episode.

"It starts off with some of the highest intensity that we've ever seen on the show, and then gets contemplative very quickly. And then boom, it's right back to that insanity and intensity," Gimple said.

6. Lots of internal conflicts: The forthcoming instalment is packed with drama. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Norman Reedus, the actor who plays the role of Daryl Dixon, teased "lot of internal conflict" leading to a "lot of mistrust." According to "The Walking Dead" star, a lot of characters that did not have any disagreements previously start to lose trust in each other as they struggle to survive in Alexandria.

7. More for Daryl and Carol and Easter eggs: Another thing fans must watch out for is Daryl and Carol (Melissa McBride) moment and Easter eggs.
"It's in Episode 6, I think, that particular zombie -- something happens, and it harks back to a Daryl and Carol moment. I'm going to let you just guess what that could be, but there are Easter eggs in some of those zombies, so you'll see it in Episode 6," Reedus said.

Huffington Post speculates that it could have something to do the moment when Daryl and Carol fell of the bridge in Season 5.

8. Rising threat: The number of zombies will increase in "The Walking Dead" Season 6, according to Cleveland. As revealed by the showrunner during the "Talking Dead" Season 5 finale, the show will break its own record of featuring the highest number of walkers in an episode in Season 6.

9. Return of Wolves and an attack on Safe-Zone: The abovementioned publication suggests that the Wolves will not appear until "The Walking Dead" Season 6's end of first half or beginning of the second half. Also, it is noted that wolves/walkers will attack Alexandria resulting in several deaths.

10. Death of characters: Speaking of deaths, several media outlets are speculating that Glenn (Steven Yeun) might meet his end in "The Walking Dead" Season 6. The rumours swirling around suggest a death of major character takes place this instalment.

Rumours about Glenn's death have been around for a while and were fuelled when in an interview Norman Reedus accidentally hinted that Glenn might already be gone. In an interview with MTV, the actor said that he would like to bring Glenn back to life. However, it could be just a joke. Fans will have to wait to find out for sure.
