The official trailer of Universal's Hollywood vintage comedy flick "Hail Caesar!" is out, and it elicits chuckles as viewers are swept away into an adventure with oddballs.

Leading the star-studded cast are George Clooney as the dimwitted actor who gets abducted; and Scarlett Johansson as an actress who uses her feminine wiles to extract money.

Josh Brolin plays private detective-turned-fixer Eddie Mannix, who feels the maddening stress of the abduction of the lead star.

Also part of the stellar cast are "Magic Mike XXL" star Channing Tatum as a tap dancing sailor; "Trainwreck" actress Tilda Swinton as a gossip columnist; and "A Bigger Splash" actor Ralph Fiennes as a volatile director, among other stars.

Mike Zoss Productions co-owners Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, whose film credits include "Inside Llewyn Davis" and "Unbroken," wrote, and directed the film that had a long gestation period. They set the film project in official motion last year.

As befitting a classic Coen brothers flick, "Hail Caesar!" is jampacked with colorful characters engaging in screwball comedy antics, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Besides being a celebration of the eccentric, the movie has a keen sense of location, another trademark characteristic of Coen films.

Even as the trailer focuses on creative people working on a movie within the movie, there are spiritual undertones viewers will not miss out.

"Hail Caesar"!" is not just a comedic tale. The film's musical composer Carter Burwell said there are lots of musical sequences, but the film is about faith and the movie business during the Golden Age of Hollywood, Rolling Stone magazine reported.

"Hail Caesar!" hits cinemas in February 2016.
