In celebration of the 10th year anniversary of "Twilight," author Stephenie Meyer released a new book - "Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined".

Meyer managed to keep the book under wraps taking all Twilight fans by surprise. To the disappointment of many readers, it is not the "Midnight Sun," which Meyer delayed indefinitely. The new Twilight fiction narrates the same story, but the genders of the characters are swapped. Thus, Bella Swan is now Beaufort and Edward Cullen is now the female vampire Edythe. Same goes with everybody else.

According to Meyer, the book is her response to the previous claims that Twilight is sexist. Moreover, she said that she fixed the grammar errors previously cited in Twilight.

However, the reaction towards the new book is not unanimous. While some fans are excited to get their hands on the copy, some fans wonder why there is a need for a gender-swapped Twilight in order to prove the point that Twilight is not sexist. Others just want to leave the story and fandom at peace.

Below are the top five reasons why Meyer's new Twilight book "Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined" is popular, but for all the wrong reasons.

1. It offers nothing new to the original plot.

"Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined" narrates the same story in the original Twilight, the main difference is genders of the characters. Thus, we already know what happened.

2. Meyer no longer has plans to finish "Midnight Sun" (or even "The Host")...

Reports claim that Meyer has no plans in finishing "Midnight Sun". During the success of "The Twilight Saga," it was teased that Meyer is working on a new book showing Edward's perspectives on the events in Twilight. However, several chapters of the book leaked and Meyer delayed the work of fiction indefinitely.

Even the sequel of Meyer's another work "The Host," which she previously claimed as a trilogy, has not seen the light of the day yet.

3. ...and she blames E.L. James for it.

According to Gawker, Meyer is pissed when E.L. James released "Grey," which showcases the perspective of Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey". This reminded many of Meyer's "Midnight Sun". When Meyer found out about Grey, "It was a literal flip the table moment for me," Meyer said at a New York Comic-Con panel.

4. Meyer lacks creativity to come up with something new.

Some fans said that Meyer lacks creativity and simply wants to capitalize on the previous success of Twilight. Many fans offered ideas through various social media platforms that Meyer could work on like The Volturi, Renesmee and Jacob, the history of the Cullens and the tribe, etc.

5. There is almost no possibility for movie adaptation.

Since the book offers the same plot, there is a slim chance for it to be adapted in a movie. Moreover, a lot of actors and actresses made their mark in the business thanks to their unforgettable performance in "The Twilight Saga".
