Speculations have emerged that Chicago Bulls' Spanish big man Pau Gasol could be on his way to the Memphis Grizzlies next season to join his brother Marc after the younger Gasol told reporters that his team "will try" to lure the former Laker when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer.

The Examiner reported that Marc "will try to convince his brother, Pau, to join him in Memphis next year." The elder Gasol is entering the second year of his three-year, $22.3 million contract with the Bulls, which has a player option for his final year, the 2016-2017 season.

This would give the Grizzlies a window of opportunity to try and sway Pau over to their side next summer.

Pau's current $7-$8 million salary in Chicago is far lower than what he used to earn with the Los Angeles Lakers, which was an average of $15 million to $19 million per year. Rumors said that the Grizzlies are willing to sign him for a deal much closer to what he had with the Hollywood squad.

"It's not impossible that one day we could play together," Marc said, as indicated by Hoops Hype. "I think he has two more years in Chicago and I think it's difficult that he would leave the team, I wouldn't like it. But for us, and for Memphis to add someone like Pau, it would be unbelievable. We will try. Why not?"

It is not clear, however, if Pau would like to have a return stint in Memphis. But considering the improvements made by the team to become a championship contender and the chance to play with his brother other than in the Spain national squad, it looks like the elder Gasol would at least look into this idea if or when he decides to pick up his player option next year.
