Directed by Hollywood-renowned Renny Harlin, "Skiptrace" tells a story of a Hong Kong detective played by Chan who is on a mission to track down an ill-mannered American gambler running from creditors.

Known for his works "Deep Blue Sea," "Die Hard 2," "The Covenant," "Exorcist: The Beginning" and "The Legend of Hercules," Harlin has nothing but praises for Chan.

The director said he thought he knew everything about film making already, but after working with the multi-award-winning action superstar, he said he is "learning so much every day."

"His way of doing things and improvising action and coming up with ideas, he's a comic genius which everybody knows. He's a comic genius and he will always come up with something that you add to the scene, so it's even more fun," Harlin said of Chan.

They have started filming in August and the film is set to hit theaters in 2015.

During the press conference in Beijing, Chan also took the opportunity to ask the media to stop reporting speculations about his son Jaycee.

Also joining Chan at the conference was his co-star Fan Bingbing, who was also in the city dining at the East Hotel Beijing with Hugh Jackman and Peter Dinklage during the promotion of their film "X-Men: Days of Future Past," according to The Beijinger.

Aside from "Skiptrace," Fan is also currently filming "The Moon and the Sun" and "Yang Gui Fei."

Among the co-stars of Chan and Fan in "Skiptrace" are Johnny Knoxville, Eve Torres, Lily Ji, Sara Maria Forsberg, Temur Mamisashvili, Lanxin Zhang, Tomer Oz, Paul Phillip Clark, Joel Adrian, Charlie Rawes, Pierre Bourdaud and Jai Day.
