There is a wild NBA trade rumor circling around the net today that involves Chicago Bulls' superstar point guard Derrick Rose being dangled to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams, and Nick Young.
The rumor was first reported by Marc Cantave at Sportsblog, saying that with all the injury issues the Bulls had to deal with Rose for the past several years and his currently alleged beef with some of the team's key players, it seems like Chicago is ready to give up on their franchise player.
Just recently, Sports World Report noted that the 2011 Most Valuable Player is still uncertain to play in their season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 27 because the fractured orbital bone he had during training camp has not completely healed yet.
Rose, who had only played 100 regular season games for the Bulls in the last three years, reportedly still has blurry vision and if his eyesight will not be back to normal, then head coach Fred Hoiberg is not keen on fielding him even during practice sessions.
Furthermore, it would be highly unlikely that the Lakers will accept the offer especially that Clarkson, Williams, and Young had been playing well recently and are key elements of the team's ongoing rebuilding strategy.
It just does not make sense to trade three good parts for one great but rickety piece, even if the idea of a Kobe Bryant-Derrick Rose backcourt can be somewhat mouth-watering for a lot of Los Angeles fans.
Besides, when these two injury-prone warriors get sidelined at the same time, Byron Scott will be left with no one besides D'Angelo Russell to man the playmaking chores if ever.
If the Bulls are really set on dealing Rose this season, which most sports journalists and analysts have suggested already, then it would most likely be with any team other than the Lakers.
