Supermodel and "FABLife" Host Tyra Banks shared some tips for aspiring entrepreneurs at the recent Wall Street Journal technology conference in California. She cited the importance of persistence and how to have the upper hand in business.

The executive producer and host of the long-running reality competition TV series "America's Next Top Model" also shared the technique of pivoting or moving to the next big venture when the current one ceases to be feasible, Fortune reported.

Banks tweeted that after 12 years and 22 seasons, "America's Next Top Model" is saying adieu. The show is slated to end its run in December.

The 41-year-old TV personality who has lent her face to countless global brands currently co-hosts the American lifestyle talk show "FABLife with Chrissy Teigen, Lauren Makk, Leah Ashley and Joe Zee.

Banks, who developed an app called Smize that fizzled out, openly talked about her failures. She also announced that she is changing  her standard business practice of self-funded her business ventures.

Her cosmetics company, Tyra Beauty, is in its growth stage, and is now hoping to attract outside investors, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Banks' go-getting attitude and success in the modeling world has made her an inspiring influence for many people. The entrepreneur had a rapt audience when she spoke about how women can assert themselves.

The African-American beauty also shared her technique on how to appear confident even when facing important people who tend to intimidate. The trick is to redirect one's line of sight to the forehead instead of the eyes.  

At the global technology conference, she showed underscored how women can be decisive and tough, even in a male-dominated field.  Her takeaway message to all was that it is high time preconceived notions about females are discarded; men in power ought to give women the chance to shine.
