Online ticket sites have crashed with the recent release of the poster and trailer for J.J. Abram's forthcoming film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

According to Cinema Blend, ticket sites like Fandango had failed to display ticket marketing details, due to "Star Wars" fans' attempt to secure their movie passes. The publication had noted that the site had experience technical difficulties with "Error 500," along with a photo of Minions presumably to lengthen fans' patience. At the moment, the website is now operational.

IMAX's website, as well as Movie Tickets, had also experienced interruption on Oct. 20, since fans had also made their attempt to lock their seats at their local theaters, as per The Hollywood Reporter. It is assumed that there had been a boost in the presale of the "Star Wars" ticket due to hype following the release of the latest trailer of Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

"Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi." It stars an ensemble of both old and new heroes and villains played by Oscar Isaac, Hamill, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford, among others.

Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18 while Gareth Edwards's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" premieres on Dec. 16, 2016. Meanwhile, Johnson's "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is slated to premiere in theaters on May 26, 2017 while Colin Trevorrow's "Star Wars: Episode IX" premieres in 2019.
