Rumors say the Nintendo NX will outperform its rivals, the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PS4, on release date thanks to powerful hardware and unique design - said to be a hybrid device that combines the functions and features of a console and a handheld. But what about the software or specifically, the game titles?

An article published by Movie Pilot aired a sound argument: For the Nintendo NX to really matter, it has to be supported not only by high-end components but also by compelling games. The NX experience, after all, will be defined by its contents and not the brick itself, the story said.

So the NX maker, Nintendo that is, will need to make sure that the titles below are part of the Nintendo NX package, which should increase the chance of luring in buyers following the device's unboxing:

Mario Kart

Nintendo is synonymous to Mario and the NX will be incomplete minus a game title starring the iconic character. The best candidate that fits the rumored NX specs is Mario Kart, described by Movie Pilot as "the best racing franchise in the history of the genre ... with stunningly beautiful graphics ... and realistic driving gameplay mechanics."

Pokémon

The next title in the hugely popular franchise is said to be a handheld exclusive but conflicting report that emerged lately indicate the otherwise - that next Pokémon adventure is designed for console players. The best thing for Nintendo to do is just bring the loveable characters to the NX since the device is rumored as a handheld and a console rolled into one.

The Legend of Zelda

Wii U fans have been waiting too long for a The Legend of Zelda title but the latest indication says the wait will be extended to 2016. Now since the Nintendo NX is persistently speculated to come out any time in 2016, why not unbox the device with Zelda? Doing so would be an awesome move on Nintendo's part, Movie Pilot said.

Donkey Kong

Next to Mario, Donkey Kong is the most popular Nintendo figure so it's unimaginable that the NX system is without the beloved character. As the device is touted as a beastly machine, it is high time that Donkey Kong is again treated to an open world adventure in the NX platform, the report suggested.

Metroid Prime

If the NX will present a shooting game, it has to be something like the Metroid Prime or the game exactly. While not exclusively for kids, Metroid Prime boasts of mechanics that are "entertainingly accessible and the outer space setting lends itself to endless sequels, prequels and spin-offs." The game should deliver to Nintendo fans endless hours of fun and to the company, solid growth potential, Movie Pilot said.

Super Smash Bros

Not on the list is Nintendo's current hit, the Super Smash Bros. 4, its massive popularity sustained by DLC or downloadable contents that expand game, evolving it in the process and keeping it interesting. Nintendo is expected to continue capitalizing on the phenomenal Super Smash success and making the game title part of the Nintendo NX release date is the best decision that the company will make.
