Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell are officially dating. "The Vampire Diaries" star recently took to Twitter to slam break up rumors and every other speculation that she is getting back together with Ian Somerhalder.
According to Page Six, it was Stowell who first realized that he is not following his girlfriend on Twitter. He quickly remedied the situation and posted, "That weird moment when you realize you don't follow your girlfriend on Twitter" and then tagged Dobrev.
Turns out, Dobrev is not following her new beau on Twitter, either. After getting the post from Stowell, she immediately hit follow back after realizing the oversight.
Dobrev and Stowell first started dating in July. Since then the couple has been spotted kissing and hugging in public.
Although many fans seemed to be happy for Dobrev, some insiders claim that the couple is just "faking" their relationship to advance their careers. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, since leaving "The Vampire Diaries," Dobrev failed to get offers from movie producers. Turns out, they were not really interested in her and the actress made the wrong move of leaving the show.
The outlet reported that Dobrev's camp wanted to change her image to make her more sellable. It was said that her constant link to Somerhalder was not helping her career given that the latter has obviously moved on with his wife Nikki Reed.
Even though it has been years since Dobrev and Somerhalder dated, many fans still cannot seem to get over their relationship. Insiders claim that the actress has grown tired of the rumors and thought it was best if she started dating someone new.
