"Friends" fans have always wondered why Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) did not end up together. In a recent interview, the stars revealed that they have actually pitched the idea to the show's producers but they were turned down.
Speaking to People, LeBlanc shared that they pitched the idea that Joey and Phoebe were having casual sex behind their friends' back. He said that they wanted to shoot all the historical scenes and then show Phoebe and Joey coming out of a broom closet together. The writers, however, thought that it would not be a good idea.
Although fans were heartbroken that LeBlanc and Matthew Perry were not invited to Jennifer Aniston's secret wedding, both actors said that what is important is their friend's happiness.
In a separate interview, LeBlanc admitted that he was sad to have missed Aniston's second wedding. He shared that he was not able to make it to her wedding with Brad Pitt as he was busy shooting a small-budget movie in Austria that time. He said that he tried to change the schedule but the producers would not let him.
He, however, later added that it did not matter. He shared that after more than 20 years, they still treat each other like family.
Although they do not get to see each other most of the time because of their busy schedule, the "Episodes" star shared that all six of them had dinner for Courtney Cox's birthday.
"We had so much fun. It felt like no time had passed, but it'd been almost 12 years," he said.
