Born in Brooklyn, New York, Dawin was known for "Just Girly Things," which he introduced in 2014 originally as a Vine video. Recently, he collaborated with "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" singer Silento in the song "Dessert,"

In a recent interview with Pop Crush, Dawin said the lyrics of "Dessert" can be interpreted in various ways. He said, "When I say 'something special' I'm referring to someone with an independent personality, free-spirited, and who has a sweet side that everyone wants a taste of.

"I just preferred to compress all of those terms into (dessert)," Dawin added. "Depending on someone's preference, good dessert can range from apple pie to a twerk battle between two mascots."

Released on March 17, "Dessert" peaked at number one on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart.  The song has been regularly played in "Eat Bulaga," particularly the segment that features Filipino stars Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as Yaya Dub.

Richards and Yaya Dub are collectively known as AlDub and they have been breaking Twitter records since they regularly starred in "Eat Bulaga." Thousands of Filipino fans watched on Oct. 24, Saturday, as they were seen embracing on TV for the first time during the #ALDubEBTamangPanahon concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, Philippines.
