There seems to be some problems regarding the "Captain Marvel" movie as Marvel Studios is in a quandary.

This is the allegation of What Culture, as they saw the "Ant Man and the Wasp" movie as a way to buy time for the project-and also to calm down the strong feminist demand as thet struggle to bring in the people they covet.

"Could it be that Marvel simply cannot get the talent they're looking for?" asked WC.

"There's still no director or lead actor, despite the fact that almost every other property in Phase 3 (bar Inhumans) has at least one of those locked. Yes, announcements are expected soon, but will they reveal that Marvel actually had to shift the film back to accommodate their first choices?"

The speculation continues and Movie Pilot is predictably pushing Charlize Theron-since Emily Blunt came out and denied her involvement.

"Charlize Theron as the new Robert Downey Jr of the MCU, making snarky comments and being generally adored by fans? I could get behind that!"

Film School Rejects tries to solve the Marvel dilemma in one shot, suggesting a lead actor-director tandem. Citing the success of the recently released "Meadowland," FSR brought forth the tandem of Olivia Wilde and first time director Reed Morano.

Wilde was already one of the candidates, but Morano praised her muse by saying that "her talent is just out of this world." As opposed to Theron, who will probably be identified with the "Mad Max: Fury Road" budding franchise, Wilde will make her tentpole debut in "Captain Marvel."

FSR adds: "She fits into that Marvel Studios archetype of being just famous enough to be recognizable, but ever so slightly off the radar enough to be an unexpected leader of a Marvel film."

Morano will probably gain more projects between now and November 2018 as "Captain Marvel" is scheduled. Basing on her directorial debut, by that time, choosing her would be unquestionable.
