"Doctor Who" Season 9 Episode 6 titled "The Woman Who Lived" was a solid episode, and probably the best of the new season so far. Maisie Williams was solid in her role as Lady Me, and we can't wait to see what else the actress is capable of outside of "Game of Thrones."
In episode 6, the good Doctor had to live with the repercussions of bringing Ashildr from the dead in "The Girl Who Died." While that episode had its moments, we found it to be too much on the humorous side of things. Luckily, episode 6 is by far more impressive where quality is concerned.
The episode kicked off in 1651 where the Doctor intervened in a robbery. A man who calls himself Nightmare was about to rob the Fanshawe family, but his plans did not materialize as he would have hoped. The carriage with all the goods and what the Doctor was after broke away quickly and out of sight.
The Doctor was left almost speechless when the masked of the thief was removed, and soon it was revealed that this person is no other than Ashildr, the girl from a Viking village centuries ago. She has become an immortal, the one woman who cannot die.
We find out that Ashildr is both dangerous and bored, and this is due to her being alive for 800-years. She doesn't remember most of her life during this time, so to make up for the problem she wrote her memories down in diaries.
She also changed her name to Lady Me because everyone who knew her real name are now dead, all apart from Doctor Who himself.
Interestingly enough, there is also a lion-like creature here who wants the same artifact the Doctor is after. He's called Leandro, and we understand he wants this device to create a portal in order to return to his own world. Lady Me is also indeed of this item to remove herself from Earth.
We won't spoil the whole episode, but we will say the ending was great, and that we'd love to see Maisie Williams in action again because she completely owned the role as her own. The actress has grown a lot in "Game of Thrones," and now she is showing the world how much of a natural born talent she is.
