Targeting a joint collaboration in sustaining eco-friendly technologies on industries, China and Sweden launched a green technology cooperation platform Tuesday at the World Trade Center in Stockholm.

Chinese ambassador to Sweden Chen Yuming and Sweden-China Trade Council (STC) chairman Thomas Lagerqvist signed the Sino-Swedish Green-Coop Platform to embody both countries' interest to exchange efforts and ideas on the advocacy.

According to a report from the Global Post, Oscar Stenstrom, state secretary for the Swedish ministry of enterprises, said that the platform shows Sweden's "commitment to work together, to share knowledge and innovation for our small and medium enterprises."

The platform also showed how big the Swedish government's commitment is, Stenstrom added.

Chen, meanwhile, said that both China and Sweden's goal is to promote comprehensive and multi-level dialogues and cooperation for green and low-carbon industries.

Although it is steering toward fast business development, China is facing environmental risks, which is the reason why there should be a pledge for a green and low-carbon economy, as well as economic, social and environmental sustainability.

Sweden also had the same environmental challenges in 1980s, but the Nordic country turned to overall sustainable development and environmental protection.

A website dedicated for China's policies and regulations on green industries and other related information will be published soon.
