Khloe Kardashian's husband Lamar Odom's condition continues to remain critical as multiple reports indicate that he still has a long way to recovery that is most likley to take six to eight months.

"Obviously there is a lot of attention about all this but the thing to remember is that there is a long road ahead to rehabilitation," Odom's close friend and former college basketball coach Jim Harrick told USA Today.

Odom has suffered brain damage owing to several strokes he had while he was in a coma for a week after collapsing in a Nevada brothel on Oct. 13. He is yet to gain back his motor and speech skills completely.

"He can say a few words," a source told Us Weekly who further added that as of now the former NBA player is unable to speak in full sentences. The doctors have also declared that they still don't know the extent of his brain damage.

Other reports stated that the Basketball player is in urgent need of kidney transplant and is currently on dialysis. Although his kidneys are not functioning properly, he is yet not strong enough to undergo a transplant.

Meanwhile, Odom's blood test results have arrived and as highly anticipated, he is found positive for cocaine which indicates that the drug was present in the 35-year-old's body when he was admitted to the hospital in Las Vegas.

Although it was reported that if test result comes out positive, Odom will have to face legal action for drug use, it now emerges that he will not have to face jail time as first time drug offenders in Nevada routinely get drug diversion and charges are usually dismissed when the offenders complete the counseling sessions.
