Co-written by Ryker Chan, Ka-Fai Wai and Xi Yu and directed by Johnnie To, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2" tells a story of two former lovers who are engaged to someone else but are still inevitably drawn back together.

The romantic comedy sequel was already shown at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Busan International Film Festival and recently the 11th Hong Kong Asian Film Festival. It will premiere in Hong Kong on Nov. 13, Thursday.

Like Yeung, Taiwanese star Vic Chou is also not a member of the original cast of the 2011-film "Don't Go Breaking My Heart."

"When the story is explaining some of the relationships, it has certain aspects that require the audience to grow with it," Chou said of the sequel, China Central Television.

Other members of the sequel's cast include Temur Mamisashvilo, Daniel Wu, Miriam Chin Wah Yeung and Louis Koo.

This is the fourth time Gao has collaborated with Koo.

"We are already very familiar with each other's way of working," Gao said of Koo.

Gao also has nothing but good words about Chou and Yeung. She said, "This is the first time I worked with Vic, but our working styles are quite similar. I have many sequences with Miriam. Whenever she's around, the scene is fun to do."

Currently, Gao is engaged to award-winning Taiwan actor Mark Zhao. The two have already sent out invitations for their wedding ceremony in Taipei in December after registering for marriage in June in Beijing, CRIEnglish reported.

Zhao made his film acting debut in the 2009 film "Black and White," which earned him a Best Actor award from Golden Bell. He met Gao on the set of the 2012 film "Caught in the Web."
