Uzumaki Naruto seemed to have crossed from his two-dimensional Japanese manga world to 3D China as a giant toad appeared out of nowhere nearby the Pearl River Delta area in Guangzhou, China.
A giant blow-up pipe-smoking pink toad that appeared to be tied down nearby Guangzhou's Canton Tower was put up there by Naruto fans as a tribute to the recent conclusion of the world-renowned manga series.
The gigantic commemoration of many people's childhood favorite comic series was based on one of Naruto's most powerful toad summons Gamabunta, called through a Toad Summoning Jutsu.
According to reports, the huge Gamabunta balloon, which weighs about 2 tons, is a fitting portrayal of the actual toad used by the Fourth Hokage, Naruto's father, to battle the Nine-tailed Fox that has been sealed inside the comic series' protagonist.
Fans explained that the same toad can be summoned by Naruto himself, as well as his mentor Jiraiya, more famously known as the "Perverted Sage."
Though it is still unclear as to who actually put the humongous balloon in Guangzhou, several Chinese netizens already have suspects in mind, including Florentijn Hofman, the creator of Hong Kong's gigantic yellow floating duck.
Some speculated that a marketing company advertising the comic series in the hopes of drawing up hype for the manga's online game counterpart, Naruto Online, installed the balloon.
Others said fans made it, noting their dedication to the 15-year-old manga series for putting up the giant toad, as setting the balloon up may have cost them a lot of money and effort.
