Chandler Parsons, who missed the preaseason this year to recover from a knee surgery, may return to the floor on Sunday when the Dallas Mavericks face the Los Angeles Lakers.

This will allow the Dallas Mavericks to breathe a sigh of relief as many of their players seem to be dropping like flies due to injury. In the game against rival DeAndre Jordan and the Los Angeles Clippers, the Mavs missed out on starters Chandler Parsons, Deron Williams, and Wesley Matthews. Instead, they had benchwarmers Raymond Felton, John Jenkins, and Jeremy Evans start in their place.

Chandler Parsons is considered by many to be one of the main scoring and defensive options for the Dallas Mavericks. Without him on the floor, the Mavericks are simply just not a complete team. Last season he averaged 15.7 PPG, 2.4 APG, and 4.9 RPG.

The news of his possible return against the Los Angeles Lakers came from Marc Spears via twitter, who said:

"Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons (knee surgery) told Yahoo Sports that he hopes to make his season-debut on Sunday against the Lakers."

Parsons was sorely missed in the Mavs's lost against the Clippers. Many fans had hoped that the team would steal a win against the Clippers seeing as Parsons was pivotal in getting DeAndre Jordan to verbally agree to sign with the Mavs. Parsons and many other individuals (the Clippers organization included) was thoroughly shocked when Jordan went back on his word and signed with Chris Paul and the Clippers.

Instead, Parsons will help the Mavericks defeat Kobe Bryant and the rebuilding Lakers.
