"The Vampire Diaries" fans may have gotten over Nina Dobrev's exit from the hit The CW series.

According to Bustle, there are some reasons why fans may no longer care that Elena Gilbert is no longer part of the show.

First, Elena's demise only meant that Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) has returned to his old mean self from the earlier seasons of "The Vampire Diaries."

Fans of the show may just love Damon when he's more evil than when he's nicer.

Additionally, fans may no longer care that Elena is gone because there are plenty of other characters who could take center stage on the show.

Following her death, fans had the chance to see Caroline (Candice Accola) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) in a brand new light.

Now, Bonnie (Kat Graham) will also have a new love interest, and there are rumors that it could be Damon (Ian Somerhalder) or Enzo (Michael Malarkey).

Meanwhile, the publication claimed that this season's flash forwards are so compelling fans no longer bother to look behind what's already done and gone.

Still, there are still some rumors that Dobrev could return to "The Vampire Diaries" for an episode to reprise her role.

These rumors surfaced after Michael Trevino's Tyler returned after exiting the series a few season back.

In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" may be in danger of being axed by The CW since the show isn't doing so well in terms of ratings.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
