Electronic Arts has set the Need for Speed Reboot release date on November 3 but thanks to EA Access the new racing game title is available for advanced downloads. However, the early treat is exclusive for players on Xbox One.
For PS4 owners, the wait will end in a few hours and it will be all worth it, per Ars Technica, which described the EA-published game as "visually attractive." But PC players will need to wait longer as the new NFS title will not hit the platform until the second quarter of 2016.
EA Access, by the way, is a subscription program that dangles exclusive incentives to gamers and one that was given away was the 10-hour free NFS test drive last week, according to Gospel Herald. The monthly fee is $5 per month but subscribers have the option to pay annually.
As mentioned, the latest in the NFS franchise is definitely worth the try and is perfect for gamers who have a thing for "fun ... and arcade-style game play," Ars Technica said on its review. The visuals are stunning and of specific note are the night mode and rain effects, the report added.
Obviously, there'll be speeding cars galore and not to mention modded cars, which should be more than pleasing to fans of customized rides. The NFS will appeal both to hardcore and casual gamers, the review said.
But while there are many things to love about the new games, a few gripes remain. The three highlighted by Ars Technica: car set up seems a tedious task, daylight racing is inexistent and vehicle conks out regularly. But if one can bear these minor annoyances, the new NFS is generally delightful, the review said.
On its November 3 release date, fans will have to pay up $60 before taking the Need for Speed for a spin but waiting for Black Friday 2015 on the 27th of the month could mean getting discounts of up to $10 for game titles, which likely will include the latest NFS, on Walmart and Best Buy, reports said.
