As reports indicate that the Google Nexus 6P is running out of stock and being plagued by build issues, Android fans may want to consider the LG G5 that according to rumors is replacing the LG G4 as early as Christmas 2015.

Tech Times reported that LG, a Google partner on its Nexus project, is planning to roll out its early sequel to the G4 that of course will be known as the LG G5. It is likely too that the G5 will be accompanied by a larger sibling that will take the name LG G5 Pro.

Purported unpacking of both devices will happen between November and December 2015 or just in time for the year's holiday season, the report said.

But the focus at the moment is the G5, which Tech Times said is a 5.6-inch flagship smartphone with True HD display or 4K screen resolution. That means the upcoming with LG device will match the Sony Xperia Z5 and easily overwhelm the Huawei-made Nexus 6P.

The same is true in terms of processing prowess as the same report claims that the G5 main engine is the hotly-anticipated Snapdragon 820 by Qualcomm. Recently, the SD 820 was said to be in development phase though nearing completion. Benchmark leaks attributed to the chip indicate that CPU is both superfast and powerful.

Rumors also said that SD 820 will first debut with the 2016 Samsung flagship - the Galaxy S7 - but the handset is not expected to come out until the first quarter of next year. If indeed the SD 820 will fire up the LG G5, it is likely that the device will steal the thunder off the GS7.

And the latest Snapdragon will be supported by up to 4GB of RAM in the G5, which likely will unbox in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage configurations. The camera system to deploy with the flagship is a combo shooter of 20MP on rear and 10MP on front.

A fingerprint scanner will also be part of the package and the sensor will likely be rear-located.

The Tech Times report did not mention if the LG G5 and G5 Pro will be preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on release date but if Lollipop is the operating system, it surely will get a step up shortly after the rollout.
