With an acute introduction to Ash's (Bruce Campbell) character the plot is set in that of a Deadite infested society and Ash's desires to abandon the monotone and get all social.

This leads him to a bar scene where his prompt style of approach is depicted.

Viewers can see him picking up an attractive lady at the bar, subsequently leading to a sexual encounter in the restroom.

The lady although cooperative yet turns is discovered to be a Deadite, to which Ash reacts with a dash from the spot, bringing us back to the typical temperament of Ash.

What follows is a scene hysterically horrifying. The plot unfolds to present local cop Amanda Fisher (Jill Marie Jones) and partner Carson (Mike Edward).

Carson soon gets attacked by a Deadite pair the two of them had gone to investigate. On converting to a Deadite, Amanda shoots him herself as self-defense.

Pablo, Ash's to be wingman and Pablo's friend Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo,) are introduced over the entire episode.

The makers are yet to create that unique aura about Ash that the viewers can relate to. The fact that Campbell's character does not try too hard to be groovy, is appreciable.

However, the present character sketch does not remind of the classic "Ash" character, according to Vulture.

The story develops to Ash's revelation and his regained association to his zombie chopping chainsaw after Pablo shows his belief in Campbell, one scene all his admires shall be familiar to.

There are dramatic zombie-slicing, blood-splashing scenes where his Ash and his chainsaw come to play.

Although the slow-motion camera angles appear stereotypical, it was necessary to bring out the nostalgia in the viewers, making it relatable to the Ash's character in the previous versions.

The first episode has promised the revival of the old charm and Campbell's character is crucially responsible for it.
