Chinese company ZTE Corporation released its ZTE Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini smartphones earlier this year, and is now preparing to unveil another variant, the Nubia Z9 Max Elite, after the device recently made its way through the TENAA certification in China.

The ZTE Nubia Z9 Max Elite smartphone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and thin bezels, according to the TENAA listing. The phone will have a powerful 16 megapixel camera on the back and an 8 megapixel shooter on the front.

Under the hood, the Nubia Z9 Max Elite is expected to pack a 1.8Ghz processor along with 3GB of RAM, up to 16GB of built-in memory storage, and powered by a 2,900 mAh battery.

In addition, the phone will run on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version operating system, and will come with a fingerprint scanner placed on its side, GSM Arena reported.

The Nubia Z9 Max Elite measures 154.79 × 76.69 × 8.0 mm in dimensions and weighs about 165 grams. The colors available for the phone are white and black.

Other specs include support for USB Type-C port connection, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE connectivity. As of this time, there's still no word on how much the Nubia Z9 Max Elite handset will cost and when it will arrive in the market.

Another variant, called the Nubia Z9 Mini Elite, is also expected to be launched. This phone sports a smaller 5-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 FHD pixel resolution, and packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor under the hood, along with 3GB of RAM and up to 16GB of internal memory, Phone Arena reported.
