Team Flare is on its quest to capture the legendary Kalos Pokemon Zygarde in "Pokemon XY & Z" anime series.
"Pokemon XY & Z" Episode 1 is entitled "Z's Explosive Birth! What Lurks in Kalos!!" According to Bulbagarden member Playerking, the episode opened with Zygarde 50% in a cave when some members of Team Flare arrived in the cave. They attacked the Zygarde form and contacted Lysandre.
Meanwhile, Ash and his friends were walking to the forest when they stopped. Bonnie saw a green creature in her bag and played with it. Since the creature was new, Ash checked it on his Pokedex, but no information on the creature was available. Serena did the same, but got the same result.
Bonnie called the green creature Squishy. After that, they heard a noise coming from a group of Dodrio running and being chased by a Grovyle. Ash and the group saw Sawyer running after the Grovyle, indicating that it was his Pokemon. After some talk, Bonnie noticed that Squishy was missing, so the group went looking for it.
Celosia, Mable, and Team Flare saw Squishy and sent out Drapion, which grabbed and picked up Squishy. Ash and his team battled Team Flare and got Squishy back. Meanwhile, Celosia and Mable contacted Xerosic, Aliana, and Bryony, who were at the Flare Laboratories.
The friends had dinner together while Squishy sat on a tree stump and bathed in the sunlight. As Ash and Sawyer compared their badges, Ash revealed that he was heading to the Snowbelle City Gym.
While Ash and the group was sleeping, Squishy sensed that Team Flare was approaching, so it warned its friends. The group fought Team Flare again with Frogadier, Braixen, and Luxray while Squishy was found by Byrony and some Team Flare grunts.
Squishy started to glow green, along with other green creatures nearby. Together, they formed Zygarde 10%. At this point, Squishy managed to defeat the Team Flare members' Pokemon. After the battle, Ash and his friends found Squishy, bruised and hurt. The injuries faded when Bonnie picked Squishy up.
Byrony, who was also injured, talked to someone at the Team Flare Laboratories while Team Rocket listened to Byrony while hiding nearby.
Ash and his friends said goodbye to Sawyer and walked past Alain.
According to Bulbapedia, Episode 1 marks the debut of Zyagrde 10%, which resembles a dog. Other Zygarde forms include the Zygarde Cell, Zygarde Core, Zygarde 50% forme, and Zygarde 100% forme.
"Pokemon XY & Z" Episode 2, which is entitled "Hit-blooded Hariborg! Puni-chan is Being Targeted," aired on Nov. 5 while Episode 3, "Mega Audino VS Giga Giga Meowth" airs on Nov. 12.
