Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. recently launched a new smartphone, the Huawei G7 Plus, as the successor to last year's Huawei Ascend G7 handset.

The Huawei G7 Plus smartphone is currently available for purchase in the Thai market, as of this time, with a price tag of $330 off-contract.

In terms of the specs, here's a look at how the latest G7 Plus compares to its predecessor.

Huawei Ascend G7

The Huawei Ascend G7 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display screen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The phone came with the Android KitKat version operating system along with the Emotion UI 3.0 on top.

The Ascend G7 has a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood, the phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory storage, and a large 3,000 mAh battery.

The Ascend G7 is available in black and white colors.

Huawei G7 Plus

As for the Huawei G7 Plus, it sports the same 5.5-inch display size with a higher 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, accompanied by a 2.5D curved screen and Gorilla Glass.

This phone is made of 90 percent metal, according to Huawei, and runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop version OS (Emotion UI 3.1 on top) that could be updated to the 6.0 Marshmallow.

Inside, the G7 Plus packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable built-in memory, and a 3,000 mAh battery as well. It has a 13 megapixel primary camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing shooter.

Other specs include support for dual-SIM functionality, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity. The colors available for the G7 Plus are grey, silver and gold, GSM Arena reported. As of this time, there's still no word on the phone's availability in other markets around the world.
