The Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing Women's Federation honored 50 families in the city for their "inner beauty."
Dubbed "The Most Beautiful Families," the accolade was given to families that possess and exhibit the socialist core values.
During the awarding ceremony on Sunday, four of the family awardees were present to deliver a speech and tell stories about themselves.
Among the families is that of Liu Guolian, head coach of China's national table tennis team.
Beijing Women's Federation President Ma Lanxia spoke before the audience during the ceremony.
She remarked that her Federation, along with the Beijing Municipal Government, initiated "The Most Beautiful Families" campaign in March and have since mounted relevant activities in women's homes in all parts of the city.
Also present during the ceremony was Jiao Yang, a member of the secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation, who gave the awards to the families.
The Beijing Women's Federation said that it will maintain its focus on promoting socialist core values by inculcating civility in them and turning the campaign into a trademark activity.
