The latest "Mistresses" season 4 spoilers suggest that Jennifer Esposito, who plays Calista Raines, in the ABC series, will not be returning to the show. When the series was renewed, many fans were hoping that Esposito would eventually change her mind and rejoin the cast. Unfortunately, it seems like the actress has more than made up her mind.
In season 3, it was Alyssa Milano (Savi Davis) who surprised everyone with her decision to leave the show. As reported by TV Line, Milano explained that she could not relocate to Vancouver, Canada, where the third season will be shooting, because of her family. The actress added that being a wife and mother will always be her priority. She shared that she will miss the job "desperately" and wished everyone the best of luck.
Back then, the producers of "Mistresses" explained that Esposito's Calista was in no way replacing Milano's Savi. Showrunner Rina Mimoun said that it has always been Savi who got all the women together. She added that their characters will never be interchangeable, saying that the main focus of the show is about the group's friendship.
According to The Futon Critic, "Mistresses" season 4 "will continue to focus on the scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of girlfriends, each on their own path to self-discovery." It was said that even without Milano and Esposito the group will continue to support and guide each other all the while "testing their boundaries and discovering just how far they are prepared to go."
