Going back to 1980s, Duncan Jones a child growing up often stay late up at night drawing maps on his diagram paper of places he has gone to inside a PC screen. David Bowie, his father, watched Jones with suspicion to arcane video game obsession. Like any parent he would say, "Why won't you just get out of the house and play outside?" Jones remembers.

Bowie, famous on his time spent much of his childhood life touring with his father. He is kind of peripathetic child trying to find his home somewhere as he was cushioned with the comforts of a rock star lifestyle.

In 2013, Jones was approached by the Legendary Pictures offering him to direct "Warcraft" initially, a movie based on "World of Warcraft," considered as highest grossing video games online.

In 2014, the game was launched where the title made the so called massively multiplayer online role playing game popular worldwide. Players can quest across the internet, battling with monsters and forging enduring friendships with their co players. The film, on the other hand, will focus on both sides of sprawling interspecies conflicts, story of Garona Halforcen, played by Paula Patton. She will have split loyalties between two sides, The Guardian reported.

It has been decade since the film of the game was first announced, with director Sam Raimi. "World of Warcraft" in 2008 was rated 62% in the global subscription based video game market and there are 12 millions players paying the subscription in the monthly basis, Screen Rant reported.
