Apple Music can now be downloaded on Google Play and installed on phones that use Android OS. Android users are now able to experience the difference between Apple Music and Google Play Music and determine which application is better in terms of usability.
According to The Verge, most of Apple Music features are available to use except for Siri integration, music videos and signing up for family plan. This is because the application is still in Beta version. Meanwhile, Google Play Music, being the default music app for Android, lets users access all of its features.
For Apple Music to fully function, it requires an existing user's Apple ID. This enables users to access their music and other iTunes data even on an Android phone. Songs from the user's Apple Music streaming catalog can be added alongside their whole iTunes music collection. This is one advantage for Apple Music, according to early users.
However, Apple Music has only little difference from Android's Google Play Music because radio and music integration is still intact and other basic music player features, such as music library and playlists are still present in both applications, according to Engadget. Apple Music and Google Play Music also allow users to listen to music offline, which has been the traditional way of listening to songs.
Even if the two applications do not differ that much, the source still encourages Android users to give Apple Music a shot to experience the usability of the newly launched application.
Apple Music was introduced and made available for Android users on Nov. 10. The product is currently offered in most regions that Apple serves but China.
