The film, originally scheduled to be released on Dec. 5, will first be seen in China's theaters on Dec. 12, in time for the holiday movie season.

Seizing the eyes of China's film industry, the funny love flick's plot revolves around a woman's journey to healing her broken heart after she experiences an early menopause syndrome following a split up with her boyfriend.

According to reports, the film has been highly anticipated in China since the release of teasers and stills, with some noting how it could be a follow-up to some of Kwak's chic flicks such as 2001's "My Sassy Girl," 2004's "Windstruck" and 2008's "Cyborg She."

Similar to South Korean actress Jun Ji-hyun in "My Sassy Girl" and Japan's Ayase Haruka in "Cyborg She," the female lead in "Meet Miss Anxiety" is set to portray a buoyant girl who ends up finding her true love at the most unexpected time.

During an interview with Korean media in August, Kwak expressed his excitement about the film and cited how Zhou is the perfect actress for the female lead role.

"She is a jaunty girl and at the same time has an extraordinarily comical character. At first sight, I became quite sure that Zhou is the right actress for the heroine in my film," he stated.
