A photography exhibition showcasing Mongolia's wildlife and nature reserves kicked off on Saturday in the Beijing Capital Library, according to China.org.
The photos depict Mongolia's prairies and the Gobi desert, among many others, as well as the natural sights and their inhabitants, including eagles and other wild animals.
The exhibit, which will run until Dec. 14, coincides with the Mongolian Cultural Week mounted by China's Ministry of Culture and Mongolia's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and funded by the China Arts and Entertainment Group.
Bayanzul Zagarjav, head of the Mongolian culture ministry's Department of Culture and Art Policy Implementation and Coordination, said that it took Mongolian photographers one year to take and gather the photos showcased in the exhibit.
The official said that it is customary for Mongolians to develop appreciation for the beauty and vitality of nature in their children.
M. Tumenjargal, deputy minister of Mongolia's culture ministry, said that Chinese visitors of the exhibition could understand Mongolia better by beholding the photos of its expansive vibrant grasslands and wildlife, along with the cultural numbers performed during the exhibit's run.
Chinese photography enthusiast Li Shugang said that she was drawn to the photos of the natural wonders of Mongolia.
"I have been captivated by the vividness of the animals that those Mongolian photographers must have searched for, waited and framed so arduously," she said.
