"Fallout 4" is the hottest video game available right now, which is why it came as no surprise to find out that more than 1.2 million copies of the game were sold in the first 24-hours after it was released on Steam.

Achieving over 1.2 million copies of Fallout 4 sold, should be a huge boon for "Bethesda" as this happened despite the many bugs the game suffered from on day one of its release.

As for the amount of copies sold on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, this is not yet known. However, the combined efforts of both console is likely to surpass that of the PC platform, especially since both consoles will have support for mods.

The information regarding the amount of "Fallout 4" copies sold on Steam came by way of Steam Spy on Twitter. The team also talked about conversion rate when it comes down to the owners of previous games in the "Fallout" franchise.

The data shows that 23 percent of the owners of the original Fallout purchased "Fallout 4" on day one. "Fallout 2" owners make up for 22 percent while only 20.69 percent of all "Fallout 3" owners on Steam bought the new game.

Interestingly enough, folks who purchased "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" also took the plunged and picked up Fallout 4 on day one. Only 8.72 percent, which is a decent enough number since both games are so different.

The official numbers could be higher than what Steam Spy has shared since "Fallout 3" was not initially available on Steam. It simply means several PC gamers who bought "Fallout 4" on Steam might be owners of a copy of "Fallout 3" that is not associated with the traditional gaming platform.
