A new report claimed that the rumored iPhone 7 Mini is expected to launch in September 2016. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, whose predictions in the past have been accurate, suggestied that mass production will begin in the first half of the year.

Kuo added that iPhone 7 Mini will be a smaller option in Apple’s 2016 lineup to cater for the demand which still exists for smaller phones. iPhone 7C might well be marketed as a budget model, and that people looking for smaller, cheaper iPhone won’t necessarily want the latest technology.

Apple had increased the screen size of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in 2014 in order to regain market share and sales from Android phones with bigger displays. The new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus launched this year also feature similarly large screens, but fans continue to hope for an iPhone 6c with a smaller 4-inch display to be launched soon by Apple.

The Cupertino-based tech giant may launch a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and a 5.5-inch model, the iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 is likely to get a substantial physical redesign after the largely identical iPhone 6/6s generations. It is likely to be thinner than ever and the patented cut-down headphone socket would be one way to help achieve this, Mac World reported.

The iPhone 7 is rumored to deliver a range of new tech. Projected specs includes an A10 system on a chip (SoC) that will sit at the heart of the smartphone and a super thin frame at 6mm thick. The iPhone 7 might also have a 2K display, an Apple wireless charging puck, front-facing speakers, and an 8MP selfie camera in the front.

The handset is likely not getting a 3D Touch screen. It is also rumored to have a stronger non-metallic casting that will give the iPhone 7 a tough waterproof frame. It is also likely the handset will have limited storage, maybe 16GB and 32GB capacities and a limited RAM, according to PC Advisor.
