A New Orleans Saints fan has been charged with a misdemeanor battery charge following the physical altercation between him and Chicago Bears chairman George McCaskey at the Soldier Field stadium on Monday night.

The Saints fan, who has been identified as 58-year-old Robert Kohnke, reportedly shoved the Bears executive after the two had a "brief conversation" regarding the stadium seats occupied by the former, revealed the arresting officers from the Chicago Police Department.

Upon arriving at the Monday night game, McCaskey discovered that his reserved seats were already occupied by the Saints fan. He then engaged Kohnke in a "brief conversation" in what could be assumed as a discussion regarding the seating arrangements. Following their short discussion, McCaskey left and endeavored to search for a security personnel in the concourse level.

When McCaskey began walking away, however, the Saints fan stood from the disputed seat and forcefully pushed the latter in the back. This resulted in the Bears chairman falling to the ground. Witnessing what was about to turn into a violent fist fight, a Bears fan reportedly seized Kohnke from causing further damage to the other man. The Saints fan was then tackled to the ground to prevent him from attacking the Saints chairman.

Kohnke was eventually thrown out from the stadium after the security personnel in the area had been alerted of the altercation. He was later arrested by the Chicago cops and was charged for one count of battery.

A spokesperson from the Bears disclosed that no medical attention was necessary in treating McCaskey after the incident.

Kohnke is said to be a lawyer from New Orleans.
